"I believe my jewelry doesn’t just allow people to wear bright and attractive pieces, but also allows them to show off their inner freedom and extraordinary character."
Where are you from?
I am from the gorgeous city of Saint Petersburg, Russia.
When did you start making jewelry?
I started making jewelry one year ago.
What inspired you to make jewelry?
I worked with glass at a stained glass studio with my family where I learned traditional Tiffany stained glass techniques. We had a lot of glass shards left over from our creations and I decided to give them a second life and create a collection of jewelry. My jewelry is inspired by medieval architecture, occult symbols, alchemy, and the nature of the North.
What material or techniques do you use to make your pieces?
I make my jewelry using Tiffany's stained glass techniques which include glass, pure tin, and copper foil. The metal surface is then covered with a black patina. In some of my jewelry pieces I paint the glass with colors and anneal in a special furnace.
Why do you think your pieces help people show off their individualism?
I believe my jewelry doesn’t just allow people to wear bright and attractive pieces, but also allows them to show off their inner freedom and extraordinary character.
What do you want people to feel who wear your pieces?
My sole wish for my handmade jewelry is for each piece to inspire someone.
What are your future ideas or plans for your designs?
I never stop thinking about new ideas for my pieces. I would like to eventually surround myself with a good team of assistants to help me realize all my creative ideas. My ultimate goal is to have people all around the world wear my jewelry. I also hope to learn how to make rings in the future using my jewelry making techniques.
What is your favorite piece of jewelry to make?
My favorite piece of jewelry to make is anything inspired by animal skulls. They are my first and favorite item to create.
What is your favorite quote about jewelry or being unique and why?
My favorite quote is “Tell me what jewelry you are wearing and I will tell you who you are". I think that the things that we choose to wear shows a lot about our character and our interests. I like that people can wear my pieces to show off their own personal style.
