Little Nests Made From Wire and Love

Wire wrapping is a jewelry making technique that has so much variety.  Even if you were to give 2 artists the same stone, they could come up with totally different designs using nothing more than wire and their talent.  I have seen a lot of wire wrapping, but Purple Poem Craft creates jewelry with a beautiful technique I have never seen before.  What I love about their collection is that they have a variety of styles.  Here are a few of my favorites from their Instagram page.

As you can see they love their crystals! They also have a simple, but artistic wire wrapping technique.  Rather than using premade settings, they create their own which really shows their personal touches.  I just love the crescent moon styled necklace at the top!

I love the technique they use to wrap their crystals!  It's like they create a little nest and gently place each crystal into it. It reminds me of a bird egg placed every so softly into its nest! It also makes the layering of crystals super easy like they did for these earrings.  The colors of these  crystals look like melons don’t they?

Chakra jewelry has become so popular and this necklace is a beautiful representation of that. The wire wrapping is simple, but enough that it perfectly compliments the stones. It almost looks like the stones are balancing by themselves on the edge of the circle.

They also make beautiful sea glass jewelry in a beautiful sea green color.  I’ve seen a lot of sea glass necklaces, bracelets, and earrings, but not so much rings.  I love the custom settings for the sea glass and it's so different from polished gem stones that the neon green really draws your eye in!

Its great getting to see artists create new things from traditional techniques.  It helps remind us that we can create beautiful things with nothing more than our hands and creativity!
