In the middle of winter, I’m sure some of you have started to miss summer. Personally I love fall, but the snow of winter is so pretty in PA that I don’t really mind it being -25F (well maybe I mind a little bit). However, for those of you who wish you were sipping coconuts on a Hawaiian beach, you need to get some Ocean Bliss jewelry in your life!
As usual, they are another one of my unique jewelry finds from Instagram. I’m always amazed at how many interesting things come up with a simple #handmadejewelry tag search! The owner’s name is Victoria and she makes the most artistic resin and wood necklaces I have ever seen. In fact, she makes the only wood and resin necklaces I have ever seen….I’m so new to this.
And the best part…she uses ethically sources wood from around the world so you can actually feel good about wearing her jewelry! I picked a few of my favorite pieces from her Instagram page below.
Is that a surfboard? Yes its surfboard. Let's move on.
Just look at the contrast! I think Victoria has really created something unique with her mix of textures. Although the wood is smooth, there is a definite contrast between the clear smoothness of the resin and the textured wood of her pieces. And she has found a perfect way to combine the things you see at the beach, wood and water (aka resin!), without having to use shells which everyone uses!
Most of her pieces come in clear or colored see-through resin, however a few of her pieces she got a little crazy with like the one below! Look at the mix of resin colors in the first one! It reminds me of marble a little bit. These pieces remind me of the drinks you would be sipping while sunbathing on the beach. Pina colada anyone?
And this piece right here is my favorite. The way she placed the resin and wood together it actually looks like a wave on a beach. I’m not sure how she came up with this idea, but I absolutely love it! Simple enough to wear with just about anything, but unique enough that everyone is going to be staring at your jewelry all day. Beautiful!
